Warner Bros. 300: Rise of an Empire — Movie Teaser Site
Jul 2013
A Warner Bros. movie marketing site for '300: Rise of an Empire' — videos, character profiles, movie poster downloads, and social sharing, built mobile-first.
Overview
Built at Trailer Park for Warner Bros., this teaser site supported the theatrical release of '300: Rise of an Empire'. It combined rich media — embedded trailers, plot synopsis, character profiles, and downloadable movie posters — in a fully mobile-responsive package with YouTube video integration and social sharing features.
My Role
- Title
- Front-End Developer
- Context
- Delivered at Trailer Park as part of the Warner Bros. campaign team.
- Scope
- Front-end development across the full site: media embeds, responsive layout, and social integrations.
The Problem
Warner Bros. needed a mobile-first teaser site live ahead of the theatrical release — trailers, character content, poster downloads, and social sharing in one responsive package.
What I Built
YouTube trailers
- Problem
- Trailers needed to play on a marketing site without breaking the layout.
- Fix
- Embedded YouTube trailers in a responsive video layout.
- Result
- Trailers worked across screen sizes.
Character profiles
- Problem
- The campaign needed a place for characters and plot beyond the trailer.
- Fix
- Character profile and plot synopsis sections.
- Result
- Visitors could learn the story without leaving the teaser site.
Poster downloads
- Problem
- Fans had no official way to grab the movie poster from the site.
- Fix
- Movie poster download functionality.
- Result
- The poster was a one-click asset, not a screenshot.
Social sharing
- Problem
- Campaign traffic needed a path onto Facebook, Twitter, and other networks.
- Fix
- Social sharing features for those platforms.
- Result
- Visitors could share the teaser without copying URLs by hand.
Mobile-responsive layout
- Problem
- Movie marketing traffic was heavily mobile and the layout had to hold up.
- Fix
- A fully mobile-responsive layout across the site.
- Result
- The teaser worked on phones as well as desktop.
